Dr. Cevdet Yılmaz

He graduated first in his class from the Department of Public Administration at Middle East Technical University (METU), earned his master's degree in International Relations at the University of Denver, USA, and his PhD in Political Science and Public Administration at Bilkent University. He began his career at the Directorate General for Relations with the EU under the Undersecretariat of the State Planning Organisation (DPT), Prime Ministry, and served on the boards of the National Agency, ATAUM, and Sümer Halı. Elected to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) as Member of Parliament for Bingöl in the 23rd, 24th, 26th, and 27th terms and for Diyarbakır in the 25th term, he served as Chairman of the Turkish Group of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU). He served as Minister of State in the 60th Government, Minister of Development in the 61st, 62nd, and 64th Governments, and Deputy Prime Minister in the 63rd Government; he also held positions as a member of the AK Party Central Decision and Executive Board (MKYK) and Deputy Chairman responsible for Promotion and Media, Foreign Relations, and Economic Affairs. Chairman of the Planning and Budget Committee of the TBMM from November 2020 to June 2023, Dr. Yılmaz has served as Vice President of Turkey since 3 June 2023.
