Dr. Minako Morita-Jaeger
Senior Research Fellow, University of Sussex Business School
She completed her undergraduate studies in the Department of Economics at Keio University in Japan, followed by postgraduate studies at the College of Europe (Belgium) and the World Trade Institute (Switzerland), and her PhD in International Relations (International Political Economy) at the London School of Economics (LSE). She serves as a Senior Research Fellow at the University of Sussex Business School, and as a Policy Research Fellow at the UK Trade Policy Observatory (UKTPO) and the Centre for Inclusive Trade Policy (CITP). Before her academic career, she worked as an Economic Affairs Officer at UNCTAD in Geneva, as a Trade in Services Negotiator for the Japanese Delegation to the WTO, and as Chief Trade Policy Analyst at the Japan Business Federation (Keidanren). Her research areas include free trade agreements (FTAs), WTO rules, digital trade governance, regulatory cooperation, and UK trade policy.
