Şekib Avdagiç

A 1982 graduate of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Istanbul Technical University, Avdagiç completed the Business Administration Specialisation Programme at the Faculty of Business Administration, Istanbul University, with honours, in 1988. He serves as Chairman of the Board of Avitaş Kompozit Plastik Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. A founding member of MÜSİAD (Independent Industrialists' and Businessmen's Association) in 1990, Avdagiç served as its Deputy Chairman until 2000. Starting with Assembly membership at the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce in 1995, he went on to serve as Board Member (2005–2009), Vice Chairman of the Board (2009–2013), and Chairman of the Assembly (2013–2018). He was a member of the Executive Board of the Istanbul 2010 European Capital of Culture Agency in 2008–2009, was elected Chairman of the Executive Board in 2009, and led the process until June 2011. Chairman of the Board of the Composite Industrialists Association between 2013 and 2019, Avdagiç has served as Chairman of the Board of the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce since April 2018, and holds numerous positions in institutions and organisations in the fields of economy, industry, entrepreneurship, education, and civil society.
