Wolf R. Meier-Ewert
Senior Counsellor, Intellectual Property, Government Procurement and Competition Division, World Trade Organization (WTO)
Wolf R. Meier-Ewert serves as Counsellor in the Intellectual Property, Government Procurement and Competition Division of the World Trade Organization (WTO), and as Secretary of the Council for Trade-Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights (TRIPS). In this capacity, he provides legal advice to WTO members on the TRIPS Agreement, intellectual property issues, and dispute settlement processes. He also served as Secretary of the Special Session of the TRIPS Council during the Doha Round negotiations. Before joining the WTO Secretariat, he practised intellectual property law and cross-border dispute resolution at international law firms in London and Munich, and worked as a researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Intellectual Property, Competition and Tax Law in Germany. He studied Politics, Philosophy and Economics (PPE) at the University of Oxford and law at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich.
